Happy Puppy Day!

Minnie decided today was the day.  Her temp was dropped this morning when we took it so we called the vet.  The vet wanted to see us at 11:30.  Between the time her temp was taken and it was time to leave for appointment she was panting off and on and had a mucous discharge.  We took her in and we (us and the wonder Dr. Jeanie) decided it would be best to go ahead and just do a C-section since last time she had uterine inertia and was she was even bigger this time.  At 12:30 we had puppies.  All 7 (6 boys, 1 girl) puppies were born alive and well weighing from 13.9 oz to a Spyrock record breaking 17.1 oz!!!!

Without further ado here they are, our Native American litter.....

Yakama
Male 13.9 oz

Cahto
Male 14.2 oz

Chippewa
Male Mismark 16.2 oz

Kalispel
Female Mismark 15.1 oz

Osage
Male mismark 15.1 oz

Nez Perce
Male Mismark 14.8 oz

Navajo
Male 17.1 oz!!!

Now the question I might need help answering is if any of these pups are tan pointed.....

First puppy pics ;-)

Minnie went in for a puppy count xray today.  Vet counted 6 maybe 7.  She's due the 15th but Dr Jean said she may not wait that long, there's one up in position already.

Puppies perhaps....

Minnie was bred to Flyer mid December.  At this time signs are pointing to that she took.  Her projected due date is Febuary 15th.  We are very excited for litter and feel this pairing will compliment each other very nicely.  Both parents have herding titles (Flyer in AKC and Minnie in ASCA) and Rally titles.

This will be the Native American litter paying Tribute to our heritage.

For further info on this litter feel free to visit our website, Spyrock Cardigans.

A photo is worth a thousand words....

and it might truly take that many to convey our excitement, but since I just got home from work I'll try to keep it shorter than that.  For those of you who aren't friends with me (Missy) on Facebook, Flyer finished his Championship (pending AKC approval) at the Mensona Kennel Club Support Entry on Sunday August 25 under breeder judge Kim Shira with a 5 point major going WD and BOW!  We are thrilled to have our first dog with letter's on both ends of his name.  Flyer, CH C-Myste Baledwr Pilot Flies Over Spyrock RN HT, has achieved all of his titles with limited showing.  He finished his RN and HT at 15 months old and his CH at 20 months of age.  We are so grateful to his breeders for not only breeding this happy, willing, (and if I do say so myself) good looking guy but allowing him to come to us.  So without further ado, here is Flyer's new champion photo!

PS It's 3am so I apologize for any typo's. ;)

Flyer's New "Friend"

Flyer had a vistor this week, a lovely blue girl named Kitty,CH Coedwig's Silver Lynx.  They had a courtship and if all goes as planned the litter is due April 22.  This litter should produce some very nice blue and blacks with goofy personalities if they are anything like their parents!  Fingers crossed!

If you may be interested in a puppy from this litter please hold off on inquiring with Kim until it's been confirmed that Kitty took.

Rose City Results and Flyer's Hip X-Ray

We had a great time at the Rose City Classic in Portland this last weekend.  Mantra was entered all 4 days, Crescent was entered on Thursday and Friday, and Flyer was entered Saturday and Sunday.  Thursday and Friday Mantra was first in her 6-9 puppy class (of one) but nothing further.  Crescent showed very well and Thursday and Friday but there were some great dogs there.  No placements for him.  Saturday came and there was competition in Matra's class.  Mantra took 2nd that day.  Flyer showed great!  He ended up receiving WD and BOW.  WB was the puppy who beat Mantra and went on to be awarded BOS.  On Sunday Flyer showed well again but it wasn't his day.  He took second in his class.  Mantra was awarded first in her class and went on to take RWB!  So proud of my puppy!

This puts Flyer at 13 points (I think) with one major.  Just one more major and he will be finished!

Here is the cell phone version of his win photo from Saturday.

I also had a photo of Mantra done since this is her biggest win, or near win, yet and I have no show photos of her.

Today we took Flyer in and had his x-rays done for his PennHip rating.  We will have the results in 2-4 weeks.  Unfortuntally the PennHip vet doesn't have digital X-Rays but I did take a photo of the one view with my cell phone.  Any thoughts?

Mantra 16 5/7 weeks

Mantra got a bath this evening and her first blow dry. I decided I'd try to get a stacked picture of her with my husbands help.  Her legs could be set up better but it gives an idea on how she is growing up.

Next weekend we will be off to the Mensona show in Santa Rosa which Flyer and Crescent are entered.  Mantra will be doing puppy matches both Saturday and Sunday as well.  Should be a lot fun seeing people we know and meeting new ones.
